ExitLag Setup for Ascaron Online
This guide will help you configure connection optimization through ExitLag to reduce ping, improve route stability, and minimize packet loss in the game Ascaron Online.
Important
- The guide is designed for Windows 10/11.
- It is recommended to run ExitLag and the game as an Administrator.
- Antivirus/firewall may block tunneling.
Requirements
- ExitLag account (active subscription or trial).
- Installed ExitLag client.
- Ascaron Online client and access to the launcher/executable file.
Quick Start
- Run Ascaron.exe and select the Worldwide channel #2 and enter the game.
- Install and launch ExitLag → log into your account.
- In the ExitLag game search field, type: Tales of pirates (Private).
- If the game is found:
- Select it and choose the region.
- Click Apply Routes → wait for the status Optimized.
- If the game is not found.
Recommended Routes
| Situation | ExitLag Region | Mode | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Playing from Eastern Europe | EU (West) / EU (Central) | Multi-Route | Usually the best balance between ping and stability. |
| Playing from Latin America | Miami / Dallas / São Paulo | Multi-Route | Choose the nearest hub for the best route to the EU. |
| High jitter on Multi-Route | Same region | Single Route | Sometimes provides smoother latency. |
| Evening slowdowns | Alternative EU hub | Multi-Route | Switch between 2–3 nearby hubs. |
- Multi-Route — uses multiple paths and dynamic selection. Great for unstable ISPs.
- Single Route — fixed path, sometimes more consistent.
Step-by-Step Setup
- Open ExitLag → in the search library, find Tales of Pirates (Private).
- On the right panel, select:
- Region/Route: the nearest European hub to the game server (see the table above).
- Route Method: Multi-Route (default) → test Single Route if necessary.
- Protocol Options: leave as default.
- Click Apply Routes.
- Launch the game through the launcher. Make sure the game shows as Optimized in ExitLag.
Checking Results
- In ExitLag, open the FPS/PING tab — make sure the ping is stable and there are no 100ms+ spikes.
- In the game:
- Check response time with NPCs/chat/combat skills (should feel smoother).
- During peak hours, compare gameplay with and without ExitLag (5–10 minutes each).
Fine-Tuning Recommendations
- Create 2–3 presets:
- EU Main (Multi), EU Alt (Multi), EU Single — quick switching during network load.
- If your ISP limits MTU — check Advanced settings in ExitLag (if available) or set MTU manually in Windows.
- Do not run multiple VPN/tunneling apps (Overwolf VPN or others) simultaneously — they may conflict.
Troubleshooting
- Game not detected by ExitLag
- Launch ExitLag before the game launcher; add all related .exe files (patcher/anticheat).
- Status does not change to Optimized
- Check your active subscription; click Apply Routes again; restart ExitLag.
- Internet disconnects after Apply Routes
- Restart your PC; temporarily disable external firewalls/VPN; update your network adapter driver.
- High ping only in the evening
- Switch hubs (EU West ↔ EU Central), test Single Route; create an alternative preset.
- Crashes or anticheat errors
- Run everything as Administrator; add ExitLag and game folders to antivirus/Windows Defender exceptions.
FAQ
Do I need ExitLag if my ping is already low?- If there’s no packet loss or jitter — it’s not required. ExitLag is useful during peak hours or overloaded routes.
Do I need to launch ExitLag every time?
- Yes. Without an active client, routing will revert to your regular ISP path.
Raid Checklist
- ExitLag is running, and the profile is applied (Optimized).
- The correct route (main/backup) is selected.
- The game/launcher is running as Administrator.
- Antivirus/firewall exceptions are added.
